Denial

There is a term used in healthcare called denial. Webster’s definition of denial is “a psychological defense mechanism in which confrontation with a personal problem or with reality is avoided by denying the existence of the problem or reality.”

Denial is not procrastination, nor is it easily attained. Avoiding  the existence of a problem takes a lot of practice and a whole lot of mental energy!

But, there’s one major problem with denial, it is not strong enough to hold back a crisis. The longer denial has its way…the shorter the list of helpful options. Then what?  Perhaps it becomes too late…

(Just something to think about)
