What is Dignity?

Taking care of people at the end of their life includes protecting their dignity (worth.)  Disease processes can bring humility to a new level and protecting their worth or dignity is crucial.

What does that look like?  How do you convince others to nurture and protect privacy, respect, honor and character?

Sometimes it includes lowering anxiety levels and therefore decreasing those negative symptoms which could cause embarrassment or defamation.

Other times, caring for dignity means we help them reach their goals for the rest of their lives.  Fostering the sense of accomplishment.

We all want to strive for a worthiness and awareness of how we count in life.  A beautify result at end of life is helping them see and feel dignified.  The natural outcome is a legacy left behind.
